Divers can expect to see abundant marine life in all forms including kelp forests, giant black sea bass, yellowtail, lobsters, abalone, horn shark, nudibranch, large pelagic species, eels, sheep crab, garibaldi, halibut, leopard sharks, and sea lions. There are a few locations around the island where divers can experience the thrill of exploring a wrecked plane and sunken ships. The Casino Point Dive Park, located on the point just past the Catalina Casino building, is a popular destination in Avalon for divers and is also the base for diving outfitters.
