Avalon 4th of July celebrations will take place on July 4. Two Harbors celebrations will take place on July 5.

July 3
 

USC Marching Band Performance / 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Enjoy a live performance by the USC Trojan Marching Band on Wrigley Stage.

July 4
 

Home & Business Decorating Contest / 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Prizes for Best Theme, Overall Decoration and Most Patriotic.
Judging begins at 10 am, Winners announced at 1 pm.
Home & Business Decorating Contest winners are awarded Catalina Island Gift Certificates:
1st place $100, 2nd place $50, 3rd place $25

Golf Cart Parade / 1:00 pm

Come dress yourself, dress your cart, or play the part!! Decorate your float for the 2025 theme, "Surfing in the USA- Celebrating the Islands Beach Culture", or the good ol' red, white & blue. 

Parade line up meets along Casino Way between 12-12.30 pm. (Decorated vehicles only.)
Parade categories: Best of Parade, Best Art Deco, Best "Surfing in the USA," and Most Patriotic.

Dinghy Parade / 3:30 pm

Organized by the Catalina Island Yacht Club. Jump in your dinghy and motor through the Avalon Bay moorings or watch from the shoreline.

USC Marching Band at the Catalina Museum / 3:30 pm (tentative)

Looking for something special to do on Catalina Island this July 4th? Join us at the museum for a 4th to remember with the celebrated USC Trojan 

Live Music / 4:00 - 8:30 pm

On Wrigley Stage throughout the day and evening.
 

USC Marching Band at the Catalina Casino / 6:30 pm (tentative)

Enjoy a live performance with the USC Trojan Marching Band at the Catalina Casino on the Fourth of July. 

View the Fireworks from the Harbor / 8:30 pm

Cruise out onto Avalon Bay aboard the Cyclone power boat for a unique perspective of Catalina’s annual 4th of July fireworks. You’ll be right in the middle of all the action, as you watch a spectacular barrage of colorful fireworks ignite the evening sky high above the glow of downtown Avalon and the iconic Casino. 

Fireworks Show over Avalon Bay / 9:00 pm (approx.)

Grab a chair or blanket and set up a spot on one of Avalon's main beaches or just watch from your boat, hotel, vacation rental or favorite downtown spot. 

USC Marching Band on Wrigley Stage / 9:30 pm

Saturday, July 5
 

Children’s Festival

Kick off Independence Day with our 39th Annual Children’s Festival. Have your kids join us at Buffalo Park for crafts & activities from 10am to 12pm.

Dinghy Parade

Decorate your dinghy in a creative patriotic theme and follow us in a parade through the coves of the West End for our 21st Annual Dinghy Parade at 2pm. Prizes will be awarded to the most creative dinghies.

Fireworks Celebration

Come watch our spectacular firework show over Isthmus Cove. Fireworks begin at dark (approx 9pm). Come early, grab a bite and cool beverage at Harbor Reef Restaurant before the sky lights up over Isthmus Cove.

Catch the Two Harbors Fireworks

Staying in Avalon? Guests in Avalon can hop aboard the Cyclone power boat at the Green Pleasure Pier or an air-conditioned bus and be in Two Harbors in time for the annual fireworks spectacular.
