Getting Your Group to the Island

Getting to Catalina Island for your meeting, group event or retreat is quick and easy. The Catalina Express offers year around daily departures from three mainland ports including San Pedro, Long Beach and Dana Point. The Catalina Flyer offers one departure daily (seasonally) from Orange County’s Newport Beach. Both operators offer group rates for groups of 20 or more. The Catalina Express also offers educational rates for students K-12 for groups of 10 or more. Maverick Helicopters offers helicopter group charters from Long Beach, Burbank and John Wayne Airport (SNA).

Once on the island, getting your group around the island is easy. In Avalon, it’s a short walk from where the passenger ferry boats arrive to most of the group lodging properties and activities. Lodging properties more than a 5 or 10-minute walk offer free shuttle service.

Taxi service (mini-vans) also meet the arriving passenger ferries and are also available to transport passengers arriving via Helicopter from Pebbly Beach.

If your group is arriving at Two Harbors on the west end of the island, no ground transportation is needed. All lodging, restaurant and services are within walking distance of the passenger ferry at this island village.
