The Catalina Wine Mixer

Catalina Island, off the coast of Southern California, is home to The Original Catalina Wine Mixer. The event started on Catalina Island in 2015, loosely modeled after a fictional event in the famous Will Ferrell movie Step Brothers. In the film, the Catalina Wine Mixer is to be the "biggest helicopter leasing event in Western Hemisphere." In real life, the Catalina Wine Mixer is the greatest wine tasting party event in Southern California. The event is produced by the Catalina Island Company.

The two day event is held annually in early June. It includes 2 days of fun, music and of course wine tasting.

The 2024 Catalina Wine Mixer takes place on May 31 and June 1, 2024. 

Friday evening events include a live band on the steps in front of the world-famous Catalina Casino, followed by a viewing of the film that made the event famous, Step Brothers, in the Art Deco themed Avalon Theatre. Late nighters can keep the party going by meandering over to Descanso Beach Club for an evening beach party that includes dancing and drinks.

On Saturday, the main event is held annually at the oceanfront Descanso Beach Club. The day features wine tastings, live music by local Southern California bands and DJs. There are also several tasting events held in the early afternoon in Avalon.
