Catalina Wine Mixer

Catalina Island, off the coast of Southern California, is home to The Original Catalina Wine Mixer. The event started on Catalina Island in 2015, loosely modeled after a fictional event in the famous Will Ferrell movie Step Brothers. In the film, the Catalina Wine Mixer is to be the "biggest helicopter leasing event in Western Hemisphere." In real life, the Catalina Wine Mixer is the greatest wine tasting party event in Southern California. The event is produced by the Catalina Island Company.

The two-day event is held annually in late May. It includes a weekend of fun, live music, and of course, wine tasting.

Friday evening events include an exclusive VIP reception at the charming and historic Catalina Country Club and a live band in the Wrigley Ballroom at the world-famous Catalina Casino, followed by a viewing of Step Brothers in the Art Deco themed Avalon Theatre. Late nighters can keep the party going by meandering over to Descanso Beach Club for an evening beach party with live music.

On Saturday, the main event is held annually at the oceanfront Descanso Beach Club. The day features wine tastings, live music by bands and DJs, VIP programming, and a wine tasting event held in the early afternoon.
