Don Whitaker - Owner Island Rentals

Don Whitaker and son Ryan operate Island Rentals Golf Carts, located on Pebbly Beach Rd, just across from Knabe Park. 

Don's father was the principal at the Avalon School and his Mom was a teacher. They worked at the school from 1969 to 1981, when they both retired from teaching. Don's parents bought the golf cart rental business in 1981, and it has been in the family ever since. They plan to keep the business in the family forever, as Don says "There's no better place to have a business than on Catalina Island, as anyone who lives here knows."
