Catalina Island Expeditions
Descanso Beach Ocean Sports (KayakCatalinaIsland.com) is partnering with Mountain and Sea Adventures (MountainAndSea.org) to provide camping at White’s Landing with accommodations and meals. The company is working on a number of different packages to include either transportation on their charter vessel, Ama, with kayaks for the return paddle or kayaks to paddle to camp and back. Other packages will include a naturalist guide to interpret the rich biodiversity that campers will encounter paddling to camp.
White’s Landing is 3 miles from Avalon on the Lee Shore of Catalina Island. An easy paddle even for beginners. What could be nicer than having your choice of camping privileges at this premier sandy beach- cabin, glamping tent, or family-style tent. A civilized alternative to the Primitive Boat-In Only Campsites which dot the lee shore of Catalina between Avalon and Two Harbors. Perfect for a couple’s getaway without having to worry about packing your own tent and food in the kayak. Groups of up to 6 can cruise to camp for a day or two of camping before paddling back to Avalon. Meals included gives campers more time for fun whether it’s snorkeling, paddling, hiking or just relaxing on the beach with a book.
Island beach camping without the hassle of packing camp gear and food - now that’s a vacation!
