The staff of the Catalina Island Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau presented a new 2017 Strategic Marketing Plan at a meeting of members held February 16, 2017. The document is available on the Chamber’s website and all island businesses are invited to review and implement the recommendations in their own marketing. Among the important observations, are the importance of having content on line that speaks to the “personas” of typical island visitors. The Personas identified are: Couples, Families, Millennials, Outdoor Enthusiasts, Groups and Arts & Cultural Travelers. The plan was developed in partnership with Peggy Lander, a marketing consultant from Salt Lake City who has extensive destination marketing experience. Input from island businesses was obtained in planning sessions in November and again in February.
