17th Annual Taste Around of Avalon
June 1
This tasting sensation is in its 17th year. It takes place on Thursday, June 1 and is the kickoff to Avalon Restaurant Week. Participating restaurants offer up tastes of appetizers, entrees, desserts, cocktails and mocktails. Tasters (that's you!) go around to participating restaurants, taste, and vote for their favorites. Restaurants are awarded a small prize and bragging rights. Don't miss this super fun and festive event.
10th Annual Avalon Restaurant Week
June 2-8
Now in the 10th year, Avalon restaurants put together their favorite menus for lunch and dinner and offer up delightful options to diners. It's your chance to experience Catalina Island's diverse dining scene.
Catalina Wine Mixer
June 2-3
If you're familiar with the Will Ferrell classic, Step Brothers, you've heard of the Catalina Wine Mixer, the "biggest helicopter leasing event in the western hemisphere." It's not really that but it is a whole lot of fun. Whisky tasting, wine tasting, live music, a screening of the film that made it famous, a heavy helping of movie quotes and one-liners along with attendees dressed like yachties on the Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria. Catalina Pride Celebration
June 24
The second annual Catalina Pride celebrates the LBGTQ+ community with a fun filled day of performances, live music, dancing, and a Pride March, letting the community know that on Catalina Island you can come as you are. All are welcome!
Annual 4th of July Celebration and Parade,
July 4
The single biggest day on Catalina Island, and by most accounts, the most fun. We kick off the day with a golf cart parade down Crescent Ave complete with marching bands and over-the-top decorated golf carts, followed by a dinghy parade through the harbor and live music on the Wrigley Stage. At dusk take in a spectacular fireworks display over Avalon Harbor. Spending the 4th of July on Catalina Island is the best way to celebrate our country's independence.
