All Arrivals

June visitation up year-over-year by 10.5% with 143,485 total arrivals.

June's total arrival count was above the three, five and ten-year averages by 14.2%, 22.4% and 35.4% respectively (table below). Cross Channel counts include 3,233 arrivals at Two Harbors this year and 3,414 last year.

June 2026 had the highest number of total visitor arrivals ever tracked for the month @ 143,485.

June 2020 had the lowest number of total visitor arrivals @ 31,933.

Arrivals by Sea

Passengers arriving by sea in June totaled 141,043, up by 10.9% for the month compared to last year (table below).

Cross Channel passenger counts were up by 5.5%, an increase of 4,647 people. Cross Channel counts shown include arrivals at Two Harbors.

2000 had the highest volume of Cross Channel passengers for the month @ 88,446; 2026 was the second-highest year on record @ 88,399, just 47 passengers behind.

2020 had the lowest volume for the month @ 23,736.

June Cross Channel passenger counts were above the three, five and ten-year averages by 6.3%, 5.0% and 16.1% respectively.

Cross Channel passengers made up 61.60% of total monthly arrivals.

Cruise passenger counts totaled 47,044, up from 37,533 last year by 25.3%.

2026 had the highest Cruise passenger volume for the month @ 47,044.

2020 and 2021 had the lowest Cruise passenger volume for the month @ 0.

June Cruise passenger counts were above the three, five and ten-year averages by 38.9%, 100.3% and 131.1% respectively.

Cruise passengers made up 32.79% of total monthly arrivals.

Private Boater passenger counts totaled 5,600, down 5.1% from last year's 5,900.

2017 had the highest passenger volume for the month @ 7,256.

2015 had the lowest passenger volume for the month @ 5,140.

June Private Boater passenger counts were below the three, five and ten-year averages by 5.4%, 10.9% and 13.8% respectively.

Private Boaters made up 3.90% of total arrivals.

June 2026's number of Vessels Anchored was 61, down 43.5% from 2025's 108.

2018 had the highest number of Vessels Anchored for the month @ 207.

2012 had the lowest number of Vessels Anchored @ 34.

June's Anchored Vessels count was below the three, five and ten-year averages by 59.7%, 52.6% and 53.7% respectively.

Combined in-bound air passenger counts for June totaled 2,442, down by 8.5% from 2,669 in 2025 (table below).

Private Aircraft passengers (Airport in the Sky) totaled 1,185, down 4.6% vs. last year's total of 1,242.

2021 had the highest volume for the month @ 2,157.

2020 had the lowest volume for the month @ 936.

June's Private Aircraft passenger count was below the three, five and ten-year averages by 7.0%, 24.4% and 16.3% respectively.

Private Aircraft passengers made up 0.83% of total monthly arrivals.

Helicopter passenger counts totaled 1,257, down year-over-year by 11.9% from 1,427 in 2025.

2021 had the highest volume for the month @ 2,078.

2020 had the lowest volume for the month @ 613.

Helicopter passenger counts were below the three, five and ten-year averages by 11.5%, 23.7% and 20.8% respectively.

Helicopter passengers made up 0.88% of total monthly arrivals.

Hotels and Short-Term Rentals Occupancy

Hotel Occupancy in June was up by 1.7% @ 78.6% vs. 77.3% in 2025, according to Smith Travel.

Hotel Occupancy was above the three, five and ten-year averages by 5.5%, 3.7% and 5.1% respectively.

2019 had the highest Hotel Occupancy for the month @ 85.7%.

2020 had the lowest Hotel Occupancy for the month @ 46.5%.

Statewide Hotel Occupancy for June was 74.0%, up 3.8% year-over-year, per Visit California / CoStar.

Nationwide, hotel RevPAR grew 8.4% for the month; this month's Visit California summary did not publish an absolute nationwide occupancy level.

Catalina's Short-Term Rental Occupancy for June was flat year-over-year @ 61.0% vs. 61.0% in 2025, according to AirDNA.

Short-Term Rental Occupancy was below the three-year average by 5.2%, and below the five-year average by 9.5%.

2015 had the highest Short-Term Rental Occupancy for the month @ 83.3%.

2020 had the lowest Short-Term Rental Occupancy for the month @ 33.9%.

Statewide Short-Term Rental Occupancy for June was approximately 69%, up 2.0% year-over-year (most recent AirDNA reading available).

Competing Destination Occupancies

Hotel Occupancy was higher than Catalina's in Huntington Beach, San Francisco and Santa Monica/Marina del Rey, and lower than Catalina's in Palm Springs, Santa Barbara, San Diego, Newport Beach, Monterey and Anaheim.

Short-Term Rental Occupancy was higher than Catalina's in all competing markets tracked except Palm Springs, which was lower.

Hotel Average Daily Rate was up 5.1% @ $279.25 vs. $265.66 in 2025.

Short-Term Rental Average Daily Rate was down by 11.8% @ $739 vs. $838 in 2025.

Statewide Hotel Average Daily Rate for June was $213, up 9.1% year-over-year, per Visit California / CoStar.

Statewide Short-Term Rental Average Daily Rate grew 6.3% year-over-year (absolute statewide/nationwide STR ADR levels were not published this month).

Hotel and Short-Term Rental Revenue Per Available Room

Hotel Revenue Per Available Room was up 12.8% @ $219.54 vs. $194.60 in 2025.

Short-Term Rental Revenue Per Available Room was down 13.0% @ $448 vs. $515 in 2025.

Statewide Hotel RevPAR for June was $158, up 13.2% year-over-year — outperforming the nationwide hotel RevPAR growth rate of 8.4%.

Statewide Short-Term Rental RevPAR grew 8.4% year-over-year, more than double the nationwide STR RevPAR growth rate of 3.6%.

June Mixer Attendance was down 14.7% @ 64 vs. 75 last year.

June Mixer Attendance was below the three-year average by 9.9%.

Note: The February 2026 Mixer was canceled due to weather, contributing to the year-to-date decline in Mixer attendance.

Phone Calls for the month were down year-over-year by 0.2% @ 638 vs. 639 in 2025.

Calls were above the three-year average by 2.7%, but below the five and ten-year averages by 18.0% and 27.8% respectively.

2008 had the highest number of calls @ 2,318.

2016 had the lowest number @ 314.

Increased use of online and mobile self-help tools for reservations and research are believed to be a driving factor behind the long-term decline in call volume.

Walk-ins for the month were down year-over-year by 3.3% @ 2,693 vs. 2,785 in 2025.

Walk-ins were below the three and five-year averages by 9.3% and 8.5% respectively.

2018 had the highest volume of walk-ins for the month @ 8,597.

2020 had the lowest volume for the month @ 93.

Short-Term Rental Occupancy year-to-date 2026 was 42.1%, up 2.1% from 2025 which was 41.3%.

Short-Term Rental Occupancy year-to-date was below the three and five-year averages by 4.8% and 13.3% respectively, but above the ten-year average by 1.3%.
