Notes on Data Sources
Arrivals figures (Cross Channel, Cruise, Private Boat, Private Aircraft, Helicopter, vessel counts) reflect data from 2012 forward only, per current reporting standards.
All three/five/ten-year averages in this report exclude the current year (2026): three-year = 2023-2025, five-year = 2021-2025, ten-year = 2016-2025, using the years with recorded data for each measure (website, Book Direct and newsletter history begins in 2019, so their "10 Yr" figures average 2019-2025).
Private Boat passengers are calculated as Vessels Moored x 4, consistent with the source sheet. The Private Boat Passengers tab still shows 9,844 for August 2026 (the August 2025 value); this report uses 2,352 moored vessels x 4 = 9,408.
Helicopter passengers for July 2026 now read 1,921 in the source sheet (1,340 was reported in the July report), which raises July total arrivals to 169,438; year-to-date figures here use the updated sheet values.
Website users combine Universal Analytics (through June 2022) and GA4 (July 2022 forward).
Statewide and nationwide Visit California comparisons were not available at the time of this report and have been omitted.
Figures reflect the corrected August 2026 data file (CatalinaData2 August final), which updated Short-Term Rental ADR and RevPAR, Google Business Profile searches and Visitor Center guide deliveries for August.
