June visitation decreased year-over-year by 2.6% with 129,854 total arrivals
June’s total arrival count was above the three, five and ten-year averages by 3.3%, 8.4% and 21.0% respectively. Cross Channel Counts above include 3,414 arrivals at Two Harbors this year and 3,578 last year. June 2025 had four Saturdays vs. five in 2024 with Saturday being the peak day for arrivals.

Arrivals by Sea
Passengers arriving by sea in June totaled 127,185, down by 2.6% for the month compared to last year.

Cross Channel Passenger counts were down 4.3%, a decrease of 3,773 people. Cross Channel Counts above include arrivals at Two Harbors.
- 2000 had the highest volume for the month @ 88,446 passengers
- 2020 had the lowest volume for the month @ 23,736 passengers
- June Cross Channel Passenger counts were above the three and ten-year averages by 0.7% and 10.0% respectively, but below the five-year average by 0.5%
- Cross Channel Passengers made up 64.37% of total monthly arrivals

Cruise passenger counts totaled 37,533, up from 36,927 last year by 1.6% or 606 visitors

- June Cruise Passenger counts were above the three, five and ten-year averages by 10.8%, 43.7% and 73.2% respectively

Private Boater Passenger counts totaled 5,900, down by 4.0% from last year’s total of 6,148

- June Private Boater Passenger counts were above the five-year average by 6.1% but below the three and ten-year averages by 0.3% and 89.2% respectively

Combined in-bound air passenger counts for June totaled 2,079, down by 2.4% from 2,775 in 2024.
Private Aircraft Passengers (Airport in the Sky) totaled 1,242, down 11.2% vs. last year @ 1,398
- 2021 had the highest volume for the month @ 2,157
- 2020 had the lowest volume for the month @ 936
- June’s Private Aircraft Passenger count was below the three, five and ten-year averages by 2.5%, 20.8% and 12.2% respectively
- Private Aircraft Passengers made up .96% of total monthly arrivals

Helicopter Passenger counts totaled 1,427, up year-over-year by 4.2% with 1,369 in 2024
- 2021 had the highest volume for the month @ 2,157
- 2020 had the lowest volume for the month @ 936
- Helicopter Passenger counts were above the three-year average by 0.5% but below the five and ten-year averages by 8.6% 13.3% and 10.1% respectively

- Hotel Occupancy in June was up 4.2% @ 77.3% vs. 74.2% in 2024, according to Smith Travel.
- Hotel Occupancy was above the three and five-year averages by 3.8% and 2.0% respectively. Ten year data is not currently available.
- 2019 had the highest Hotel Occupancy for the month @ 85.7%
- 2020 had the lowest Hotel Occupancy for the month @ 46.5%
- Statewide Hotel Occupancy for the month was 71.6%, down 11.0% from June 2024
- Nationwide Hotel Occupancy was 68.5%, down 1.7% from last year
- Short-Term Rental Occupancy for June was down by 3.2% @ 61.0% vs. 63.0% in 2024
- Short-term Rental Occupancy was below the three and five-year averages by 5.2% and 9.5% respectively, but above the ten-year average by 16.2%

- June Mixer attendance was down year-over year at 75 vs 80 or a decrease of 6.3%

Increased use of online and mobile self-help tools for reservations and research are being seen as the main reasons for periods with declining calls

- June LoveCatalina.com total website traffic was down 19.1% year-over-year @ 79,293 vs. 98,000 in 2024
- June total website users were below the three and five-year averages by 11.0% and 21.5% respectively
- Book Direct lodging referrals were up year-over-year by 0.9% @ 15,693 vs. 15,550 in 2024
- Book Direct lodging searches were up 63.3% @ 28,386 vs. 17,378 in 2024
- Additional Google metrics are now being tracked for users opting to navigate to calls, directions, searches etc., with one year of data now in hand.
Note changes to Book Direct in 2021 resulted in shifting traffic between referrals and searches. New Google metrics inhibit ten-year reporting in our software and favor their own results over our organic ranking.
Visitor Guides & Newsletters

- Certified Racks @ 6,528 guides delivered vs 7,344 last year
- Go California Printed Guide orders totaled 267, up from 80 in 2024
- Mail House fulfillment was 0 vs 20 in 2024
- Online Guide downloads were down 12.0% @ 541 vs. 615 in 2024
- Printed Visitor Guide orders on LoveCatalina.com @ 457 were down 24.3% from 604 last year
- Trade Show distribution was 0 this year and 0 in 2024
- Visitor Guides delivered to the Visitor Center totaled 960 down from 1,080 last year
