Fireworks Donations
The 4th of July Celebration is just around the corner. As usual, we are kicking off our fundraising campaign in support of the annual fireworks display over Avalon Bay. This year promises to be better than ever! In partnership with the City of Avalon we will provide a bigger and better than ever before, Fireworks display. The program will begin at approximately 9:00 pm. The City of Avalon has partnered with a handful of community organizations to make the 4th of July a glorious celebration. Themed, “Swinging into the 20’s and 30’s,” the activities will include:
- Performances by the USC Marching Band
- Live Music on Wrigley Stage
- Dinghy parade in Avalon Harbor presented by The Catalina Island Yacht Club
- Parade on Crescent Street with decorated golf carts
- Fireworks over Avalon Bay
The cost of presenting all of these programs is being shared between the City and Love Catalina Island. This is the only activity of the entire year that is not fully supported through our marketing and promotions budget: We need your financial support to allow us to cover the cost of the celebration without taking away from our advertising and promotional programs. Like all things, the costs associated with the promotions and activites continue to rise, this year it is over $100,000.
SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES: We also have sponsorship opportunities available, adding advertising exposure to businesses participating in that program. You will find information regarding sponsorship at LoveCatalina.com/sponsor. Sponsorships alone are not enough. In addition, a contribution of just $500 from each member business will go far in covering the cost of the celebration!

Box 217, Avalon, CA 90704, or deliver it to the Love Catalina Island Visitor Center on the Green Pleasure Pier in Avalon.
Please join us in supporting this year’s 4th of July. This is the only time during the year that we ask for an outright donation. Your contribution is really a “thank you” to our visitors who make it possible for us to live and work in paradise all year!
Contributions received by June 30, 2024 will be acknowledged online upon receipt. A thank you ad will also will be published in the Catalina Islander.
