Catalina Island has been named a National Geographic Best of the World 2027 destination and the Readers’ Choice winner. National Geographic recognized 25 remarkable destinations across six continents this year, and readers chose Catalina as their favorite.
Just an hour by ferry from Long Beach and 22 miles across the channel from Los Angeles, Catalina offers rugged ridgelines, miles of scenic trails, and the charm of Avalon, a harbor town known for its golf carts, ice cream parlors, and the island’s famous buffalo milk cocktail.
