Love Catalina Recovery Fund
Attracting more than one million visitors each year, tourism is the economic lifeline for our island and its 4,096 residents. When the island closed to non-residents and non-essential personnel in early March due to COVID-19, unemployment rates were estimated to be as high as 90 percent. While a phased reopening plan is underway, hundreds of residents in the tourism and hospitality industry are working on furloughed schedules, or remain unemployed.
In support of locals who are currently out of a job, we’ve partnered with the Avalon Rotary Club Foundation to administer the Love Catalina Recovery Fund. Our goal is to help with rental, utility and healthcare assistance for the hundreds of local residents in need.
If you miss your favorite Catalina bartender, tour guide or shop salesperson, please consider making a donation below – a little goes a very long way.
